So Vegas was great, but it always takes a day or two for me to get back on track after a vacay. My body is still in 'kick it all night and sleep all day mode', and with the heat in my city being borderline UNBEARABLE, these perfect little shorts from Maylee over at The Secret Store are right on time. I love the colors in this look, and how nothing probably goes together in a traditional sense, but for me-it all just FLOWS. And FYI...for the next couple of weeks I'll be logging in predominately on my SaVoyNightfire Dash account, so if you need me or just want to say hey-that's where you'll find me. I'm finally focused on prepping my first shapes collection for release, and I can't take snapshots on SaVoy Nightfire without crashing. I've stated on numerous occasions, that I'm not a particularly trendy person. I'm a woman that values STAPLE pieces; garments that will look just as relevant and fresh today as they will several years from now. In my heart of hearts, I believe Applonia Criss of CHANTKARE to be the same way. Everything she produces has a classic refinement to it; her work is polished and quite possibly most importantly: CONSISTENT. She isn't trying to "keepup with the Jones'," she is one of the undisputed leaders of the SL fashion pack. Her work is always painfully flawless, and while her spring collection is full of amazing looks, this jacket from her "BERGMAN" ensemble is the stand-out. Made in a haunting steel grey shade; the power shoulders and tied waist add structure while the slightly flared hem at the hip provide a feminine twist. You'll dress this up with the sculpted skirt she includes with the look, but you'll also dress it down with a smart pair of shorts or even jeans. If you buy NOTHING else this season, you MUST invest in "BERGMAN." While there are many other great pieces available from other fashion houses right now, it's my humble, unsolicited opinion that Chantkare is simply STRONGER...

It's hard for me to fathom that within six months of publishing "Material Girl", I've reached 20,000 visitors to my page. I know I'm all over the place; I'm classic American sportswear one day, I'm avant garde the next. But a lot of you are cool with that, and you come here expecting me to blog only what I love and believe in-no matter what ANYBODY else is doing. Words can't adequately express how thankful I am for your support andlove. So while we're on the subject of "support and love," I have to thank my girl Giz Seorn of GizzA Creation's for being so sweet and generous to me and the blog. She passed me this ensemble this morning, and it literally took my breath away. "Shalwar" is edgy and sexy, and will be equally as strong pieced apart as collective. Her textures are ALWAYS perfect, and her design aesthetic isn't quite like anybody else's right now. Her talent was recognized over the weekend by BOSL; she was named Best New Fashion Designer, and I couldn't agree with thatdistinction more...

I think the "What's Your Digits" initiative started by Strawberry is long overdue. I love that so many of us are CONFIDENT and SECURE enough in our personal styles and abilities here in-world, that we can share and compare our preferences with fellow bloggers and residents. I know I'm taller than everybody else. I know I'm curvier than alot of other avatars. The same goes for my RL self; I'm 5'9 barefoot and well over 6 feet in heels. When I was growing up I was called words like "lanky" and "mutt." Now, I FEEL I'm STATUESQUE and EXOTIC. I don't look like anybody else...and that's JUST the way I like it.
