For as long as I can remember, I thought about writing a blog based on SL Fashion, but I kept making excuses as to why I shouldn't. I told myself that I wouldn't have the time to devote to it, and that the blogosphere was already too inundated with them. I thought that no one would read it and that I would be wasting my time. I'm a quiet girl, and I've found that on numerous occasions to be interpreted as me being "stuck-up." But it was when writer Miss Paola Trizomu (who has also manifested into an AMAZING MODEL AND FRIEND) interviewed me about my personal style and the season's hottest trends, that I finally decided a blog would be the best medium for me to showcase my love for fashion, music and the REMARKABLE WORK of the content creators of SL. Almost 2 months publishing the blog and well over 4,000 hits later, I'm convinced I made the right decision. I love seeing WELL-DRESSED women that take PRIDE in their avatars. And if you can pull up my blog and find an item or store that you didn't know about before, then I feel like I'm not wasting my time. Thank you for ALL THE NOTECARDS AND IM'S IN-WORLD, AND COMMENTS HERE ON THE BLOG. The love and support I've received since I started has been overwhelming, and I'm grateful for every hit. I'm born and bred in the midwest, and anybody who's lived or spent time here knows that this time of year it's COLD. And not that California/Florida whiney 50 degree cold either. I'm talking I woke up this morning to 7 degrees. Needless to say, beautiful outerwear is essential for me in both worlds.The Long Cardi in Brown by {SMS} is my latest addiction. It couldn't be more perfect and I'm having a hard time taking it off. Everything from the collar to the sleeves, the length and the texture-this is the most gorgeous cardigan in SL. The Call For Couture...

A pet peeve of mine has always been the misuse of the word COUTURE in second life. I couldn't be happier that there's finally an event that exemplifies precisely what the term truly means. The Call For Couture Festival opened on October 10th, and closes October 31st. It includes an auction and 50% of those sales will be donated to The Samaritans-a 24 hour center devoted to suicide prevention and people in emotional crisis. Each designer participating has created a true COUTURE item to be auctioned off, and a corresponding ready-to-wear item or items available to the public for purchase at the event. The couture item up for auction will be 1 of only 5 copies of the piece in existence in the world.

I couldn't be happier to show you the couture and ready-to-wear garments from OSAKKI, one of my favorite brands in SL. My beautiful friend Kayshia Piers is back after hiatus with both a fresh perspective and new design aesthetic. I asked her about her inspiration behind these pieces and where her head was currently at...this is what she had to say:

[23:54]  Kaysha Piers: Well, I've been really going through alot of darkness lately...with my recent graduation from college I've lost alot of things, friends, people...especially this year I've experienced a death and a loss of love...I've been a little tortured from both.

The first time I saw these boots I knew they were special. SLink is one of the most prolific shoe brands in SL; the work of Siddean Munro never ceases to amaze me. She gets it right EVERY time.
